XHTML and CSS

XHTML is the latest standard for marking up web sites couple with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) the content of a website is separated from the designed aspects.

Done correctly this allows a website to be easily maintained, the content can change without having to change the design. Also the design can change without having to change the content.

For example you have a news column on the left of the page and want to move it to the right a simple change to the CSS file and your done, all pages that use that CSS file will now be updated.

CSS also allows for different files depending on the viewing device, such as a CSS file for a screen browser, one for printing and another for a mobile device.

JavaSCRIPT and AJAX
